This is super easy walk /i can’t even call it hike/ bellow the Hollywood sign. It’s stroller friendly and it takes about 20 min. to make all the pictures of the sign along the way and come back to the start point
on this picture you can actually see almost all of the route
And dont forget to stop by in the amazing Lake Hollywood park on your way back. They have a great children’s play area too
What is great about the Hastain Trail? You park right in the beginning of the walk, it’s circular, not too short but easily done in hour or two, has a great view of the city and it’s in Beverly Hills
Officially this hikes end here with the view of the reservoir but continue up through the cut fence until the end. Its only a short climb and so worth it
It’s impossible to do Hastain Trail with a stroller but you can do it with a carrier. Just be careful with the descent on the way back it is a little steep.
You finish the hike in a meadow with a amphitheater and picnic tables
with a newborn you can’t go to the beach . This is the next best thing. Strolling next to the beach. Unlike more famous beaches in LA this one doesn’t smell of urine. The path is really long and its only up to you if you want to continue through Hermosa beach to Redondo beach.
all the best things in life are free… Getty museum too. Just pay for the parking and you can spend all day walking around, check out all the expositions, have lunch ,… as we did. And I’m planning to do it very soon again. 100 percent stroller friendly, if you’re too hot outside just go “hide” and explore the inside.
nice detail: I’ve posted on instagram a picture of my 6 months old son in the museum and guess who made a comment about it! The Getty museum itself. He’s fan for life now:)#mateoalija
supposedly you can make whole loop around the reservoir but we didn’t do it (yet) so i can’t say, but the part we did – the west DWP road – is nice enough. The views from the dam are amazing. The water, the trees, the sign,..the walk afterwards its nice but you’re walking around a fence. Still a nice walk though
maybe in different time of year i would like this walk more but we will most definitely come back to Palos Verdes
